"I joined the mock trial team because I was considering a career in law. I stayed on the team all four years because it turned out to be one of the best experiences of my life. The mock trial team members and coaches were, and still are, my second family. Even now, I know I can call any one of my teammates and they will be there for me should I ever need something. Of course, it’s always nice to say I was part of a team that competed against, and defeated, teams from Ivy League schools. But more importantly, the skills I learned through mock trial—critical thinking, public speaking, the ability to think and act quickly on my feet—have served me very well since graduation. I can honestly say that being on the mock trial team gave me a huge advantage in law school and it continues to give me an advantage in the courtroom. I am certainly thankful I joined the team early and was able to spend all four years in the program."
